Are you looking for a job? (part 2)

Following the second article about LinkedIn I wrote this step by step: How can you benefit from it? Why should you use it?

Chapter 2

What is your status? It’s a daily friend

The status is important because inform others about what you are currently doing/looking for and it shows up on all of your profile connections.

It’s always good to update your status.

Why? Because you can…

-Promote your networking events or those  you will be attending

-Create seminars and webinars

-Promote new articles on your blog

-Promote others great blog articles/videos/podcasts

-Promote places you am travel to

-Promote compelling questions

Chapter 3

Get connected

It is important to add all contacts to your e-mail (interesting contacts). The reason for this is because it comes not from the power in your first degree connections, rather than in your expanded connections, second degree and third degree network.

Starting writing recommendations for others and the reciprocity principle will work in your favor. (More you give, more receive)

Chapter 4

Ask compelling questions

You can ask the questions directly for categorize and target group, when you prepare the questions don’t make the questions too broad, or will get broad answer. The more concise and focused your questions are, the easier it would be to find the right answer,  provided you’re with all of the information you need.

When you ask a question you:

1-Attract high quality individuals to join your network

2- Find the information you need for free

3-Expand your connections

4- Promote your profile by showing up on the home page of others

Why should you use LinkedIn?
Because…
-Can help you find your dream job

-Quit your job to work for yourself
-Find the right employees
-Drive traffic to your website
-Personal branding
-Find freelancing opportunities
-Get free Public Relation

Action steps:
1) Create account on LinkedIn
2) Complete your profile 100%
3) Two types of people to connect
a) Only add your close and trusted network (Better way)
b) Connect with everyone

1) The power of adding key words

The profile that carries more of the same keywords show up first in the search ranking.
Keywords in your profile is the key.
Five main places you need to have your keyword

1-Headline

Make your headline simple and value driven, one way to do this is to tell people who you help and how you help them.

2-Current work experience

It is important to include certain keywords in your current work experience as well.

3-Past work experience

This is the same point as the current work experience. By having the keywords in this section, LinkedIn rewards this for being more relevant, and therefore your profile gets moved up higher on the list when searched for those keywords.

4-Summary

The summary is as important part of your profile. It is the part that let people know exactly who you are, who you help, and how you help them. e.g.Write about yourself, your goals, your passion, hobby.

5-Specialties

List your specialties and skills one after another.
